Several complaints from aggrieved teacher trainees indicate that most of them did not receive the just disbursed two months trainee allowance. In response to their queries and complaints and to find out the reasons for their mishap, several authorities were contacted to ascertain the reasons for such situation. Our sources indicate that trainee teachers who did not receive their two month stipend had issues with validation. This is to say that, their details were incomplete to merit payments. Some errors including wrong SSNIT numbers and falsified dates of birth accounted for their incomplete validation and further processing. Several issues including owing college fees also popped up.
This assertion that trainees who owned fees did not receive their funds, according the authoritative source, is untrue and misleading. 'Owing school fees does not prevent a trainee from receiving their allowances' the source disclosed. 'When colleges rather delay submitting student data to be processed, it is then likely that such students will not have their funds delivered. The reasons why most trainees in this ''no payment'' bracket attribute their predicament to owing fees is that, most COEs rather delay sending the data of students who owe them. In some extreme situations, their data is not sent for processing at all.

THE BASE continued to press for remedies for such aggrieved trainees. It was disclosed that such students will eventually be back-payed all delayed allowances once their colleges submit their complete data for processing.
