In the heart of the afternoon of July 27, 2022, several unconfirmed circulations of the disbursement of a two-month trainee allowance went viral on the various platforms, attracting a lot of questions from trainees ascertaining the credibility of the said circulating information. This circulation came after the "National Dialogue on Initial Teacher Education" broadcasted live on Facebook on the theme Four Years into the Transformation of Colleges of Education into Degree Awarding Institutions: Realities and the Way Forward where several dignitaries mounted the platform to delineate their perspectives on the current state of teacher education in the country.

An excerpt from the programme revealed that trainees are to receive a two month disbursement of allowances, postulated by the current TTAG president, Mr. Dzunu Jonathan. In ascertaining the credibility of the said disbursement, THE BASE contacted the official BODY in charge of disbursing trainee allowances, SLTF, via their official Facebook page, through a certified representative.

He indicated that, the body has indeed received funds from the government and disbursement is scheduled for the coming days especially as this disbursement includes level 100 trainees. He further stated that trainees should start receiving funds by 8:00am on the 28th of July or any other working day of the week of query. The sudden two-month disbursement also comes at the back of a near shortage of food supply for the various colleges of educations which demanded a quick response from government, according to prudent sources. Trainees are therefore urged to remain expectant of their two week disbursement.
